The Community Information Centre of Waterloo Region is an incorporated, nonprofit, charitable organization (0287565-09-15) that is run by the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo (SPCKW/CICWR). The SPCKW/CICWR is a member of InformOntario and we maintain a database of about 2600 nonprofit and government programs that provide human services. Some of our data is combined with data from across Ontario to create the broader database used by 211 Ontario and Telehealth Ontario. SPCKW also conducts research and facilitates community development consultations.
Our confidential information and referral service responds to over 11,000 telephone, walk-in and email enquiries per year. We also produce a number of publications, including, the Blue Book: Directory of Community Services and a variety of customized lists and labels. Our reception area contains more than 450 free pamphlets from various nonprofit groups and government offices.
