Basic Needs Guide

Financial

If you are struggling financially, contact the Waterloo Region Social Services Department. They may provide you with financial assistance through the Ontario Works program. You must make your application by phone, and it will take a few days to process, so please don't wait until you have exhausted all of your funds to call.

In order to apply, you will need the appropriate identification and documentation. Call to listen to the items you need, collect them and then call back.

If you are missing identification cards and need them replaced, you can visit the Service Ontario Office, inside Kitchener City Hall, and ask for their Lost Identification Package.
