Basic Needs Guide

Job Search Training and Employment

With the constantly changing job market, finding a new job can be difficult. If you are struggling there are organizations in the area that you can turn to for help. The Working Centre can help you with job search techniques and resume writing. One of the most important things to know is what your skills and abilities are and how to market them. Conestoga College offers an Employment Preparation Program that can help you explore your interests and strengths.

Without access to a computer, creating and printing resumes can be a challenge. ConnectKW is a network of free public internet access sites. There are computers and printers available for general public use, be it typing, or searching the internet, that are available in local agencies and community centres throughout Kitchener and Waterloo.

Job hunting can be discouraging. Try to stay positive and view the hunt as a learning experience. Be persistent with sending out resumes and following up on them.
