Positions Available
The Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo is seeking project workers to assist with achieving the objectives of ConnectKW, a network of public internet access sites across K-W. Project Workers will provide technology training through regular visits to community sites across the city, and through small group workshops which they will develop and facilitate.
Social Assistance Review Commission Consultation
On Tuesday August 9th, the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo and partners in K-W Poverty Free Action Group hosted a forum to allow members of the Kitchener-Waterloo community to discuss and give input to the Social Assistance Review Commission consultation.
Questions for candidates about social assistance (OW and ODSP) and poverty
The ODSP Action Coalition, The Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC) and the Steering Committee on Social Assistance have prepared questions for people to use to talk to their candidates about social assistance (OW and ODSP) and poverty issues during the election. They also describe changes at Elections Ontario that will be of benefit to people with disabilities. Read more
Kitchener-Conestoga All-Candidates Sessions
The All-Candidates Sessions organized by the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo for the Kitchener-Conestoga riding have been canceled due to low candidate response. The dates were to have been Wednesday, September 14 at Breslau Community Centre and Sunday, September 18 at Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre. We apologize for any inconvenience.
