Waterloo Region Healthy Communities Coalition

2004 Activities

Give Me a Break

In 2004, the Coalition decided to try to engage people involved in Healthy Communities in different ways. First, we organized a night of entertain ment intended to address an issue addressed in both past Forums - that of burnout among people doing Healthy Communities work. Titled "Give Me a Break", the February 28 event was a social, fun, entertainment night with no heavy keynote speeches or workshops. It featured six fun and entertaining stories and a performance by James Gordon - someone who incorporates Healthy Communities issues with wonderful, toe-tapping music. Pictures from the event.

Healthy Communities Online Discussion Forum

Launched in April 2004, The Healthy Communities Online Discussion Forum is a space for ongoing social discourse on the philosophies an practices surrounding Healthy Communities initiatives and projects. It is an opportunity to share information, get to know one another, build networks, exchange ideas, or search through the storehouse of knowledge that the forum contains. (Note: the discussion forum is no longer available.)
