Call for SCPI Proposals

Parties interested in making proposals for funds from the federal Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative (SCPI) are invited by the Regional Municipality of Waterloo to submit proposals. Click here for more information. Applications are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and may be obtained from the Regional Purchasing and Materials Management Division, 4th Floor, 150 Frederick Street, Kitchener, Ontario N2G 4J3. Anyone submitting proposals is encouraged to attend an important information meeting being held on Thursday, February 28, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 99 Regina Street, Room 210, Waterloo Ontario. The deadline for proposals is Monday, March 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m.

Youth Homelessness Initiative

A Youth Community Advisory Board (CAB) held its first meeting Feb. 12 to begin the process of reviewing eight applications for funds from the federal Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative. (A total of $226,764 has been allocated for youth projects in Waterloo Region). Two of the board members are youth who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. SCPI Co-ordinator Position - The Regional Municipality of Waterloo is hiring a co-ordinator to manage the implementation of the Community Plan in conjunction with a broad range of community partners and to manage the administration of funding and contracts for eligible projects under the federal Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative.
