Cambridge Candidates Meeting

Thursday, September 18, 7-9pm, the Waterloo Region Housing Coalition will present a Cambridge Candidates Meeting on issues related to housing. Moderated by Gary Foran, the meeting will take place at the Preston Branch 126 Royal Canadian Legion, 334 Westminster Drive N. Toronto Report Card on Housing and Homelessness 2003

City of Toronto: "The highlights of the Report Card include the finding that 25 per cent of Toronto's population (552,300 households) have incomes below the poverty line. Meanwhile, some 250,000 Toronto households pay more than 30 per cent of their income on rent. The Report Card also discovered that demand for housing and homeless services continues to rise. Some 71,000 households are now on the municipal waiting list for affordable social housing, while 31,985 different people (including 4,779 children) stayed in one of Toronto's shelters last year."
