The Social and Economic Inclusion Initiative aims to respond to concerns about isolation and community disconnectedness experienced by youth and seniors in urban and rural communities. The Project process will engage youth, seniors, and community leaders in Waterloo Region, Brant County, and Elgin County to further understand barriers to inclusion. The knowledge gained will be used to develop tools, and action planning strategies to inspire local action and support continued action.

The Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo is seeking short term project assistance for the Social and Economic Inclusion Project. This position requires someone with an interest in community research who wants to develop these skills further. ( Update: competition for this position is now closed)

Local fieldwork groups in Brant County, Elgin County, and Waterloo Region are actively engaged in project activities. Each local group is excited about the ongoing outcomes of their efforts, and the opportunities to share our learnings with one another.
