The Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo is seeking short term project assistance for the Social and Economic Inclusion Project. This position requires someone with an interest in community research who wants to develop these skills further. ( Update: competition for this position is now closed)
The Project Assistant is accountable to the project supervisor and will work closely with the project team to assist with:
- Compiling research material from a series of focus group sessions held in July and August;
- Coordinating a community based analysis process in early September;
- Providing follow up to session participants;
- Completing summary report of the focus group sessions; and
- Completing an interim community profile report.
Skills Required:
- Research and information analysis
- Demonstrated report writing skills
- Editing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player
- Proficiency in use of computer:
- efficient keyboarding skills
- word processing and spreadsheet experience required (i.e. familiar with Word and Excel and/or WordPerfect and Quattro Pro)
- familiarity with data analysis software (e.g.SumQuest) is an asset
Period of Contract: approximately 5 weeks August 25 to September 26, 2003
Total hours of contract: 150 hours
Compensation: $12.00 per hour fee for service contract
