4.0 Taking Action
4.1 The next section of this documentation report includes notes and a power point presentation that were created during the Social Planning Network of Ontario Conference that was held in November 4th and 5th, of 2004 in Toronto, Ontario. The power point presentation presents the journey and processes that took place throughout the various phases of the project. (PDF File)
4.2 Following this section of this documentation report includes notes from the Community Forum that was held on November 13th, 2004. It was a Regional Forum that invited all of the participants who had been involved with the project up to that date. This included the social researchers from the four Social Planning Councils, the service providers who were interviewed at the initial stage of the project, and the seniors and youth who were involved in the kitchen table talks. It should also be noted that certain members of the SPNO were also invited in order to help facilitate the event. (PDF File)
4.3 In order to plan for the upcoming workshops that were to be held as requirements for this project, Planning Meetings were scheduled with local service providers, seniors and youth, who had participated in either kitchen table talks, interviews or the community forum in Cambridge and North Dumfries. A group of dedicated individuals were present at these Planning Meetings to help guide the Social Planning Council as to how to direct the upcoming workshops in terms of format, theme, schedule, etc. Notes from all of the brain storming sessions that took place have been documented and are located in these sections labeled December 5th, January 12th, and January 24th, 2004. 4.4 This section of this documentation report includes notes incurred during the preparation of and after the completion of the workshop that was held on February 26th, 2004. Materials presented to the participant as well as the facilitators present that day have all been listed. A newspaper article featuring the event of the workshop has also been presented; along with pictures of a collage that was created by a group of seniors and youth during one of the workshop activities. An evaluation was also completed and the results from the evaluation forms have also been provided to better understand what went well and what things could be further improved.
4.5 This section highlights "Closing the Distance" All Region Reflection meeting and workshop held in Toronto on March 22, 2004, that brought together the Social Economic Inclusion Initiative sites from across the province, to share their learnings and outcomes.
4.6 The final section of this report includes notes from the final Regional Meeting that was held on April 1, 2004 regarding the conclusions and summation of this project.
