The Community Engagement certificate program is geared towards practitioners in the public and non-profit sector from a variety of fields and disciplines. Courses in this program have been developed through community-based social planning practice across Ontario. Leadership for developing and delivering the curriculum is provided by Peter Clutterbuck, a long standing contributor to the Social Planning Network of Ontario.
As a member of the Social Planning Network of Ontario, the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo is working with the Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University to provide local field support for the online Certificate Program.
Courses are available through distance education and the Social Planning Network will provides an ongoing field component to enhance the learning opportunity of the certificate program.
This May, the field component is introduced allowing students to come together face to face for discussion and reflection or doing at least one course assignment as a local or joint project.
More information about the program is attached. Spring Course registration is open now and must be done directly through Ryerson University – www.ryerson.ca/ce/community.
