Livable Communities Project: Aging and Disabilities (Updated)

Posted 23 March 2009

The Social Planning Council Kitchener-Waterloo is collaborating with the Canadian Centre for Disability Studies (CCDS) in Winnipeg, Manitoba on a project to assess the livability of communities for those who are aging with disabilities and for seniors who are aging into disabilities. The City of Waterloo and Woolwich Township are two of six communities that are included in the project. Two communities in each of Manitoba and British Columbia are also taking part. The project takes place between the end of January 2009 and the end of March 2009 and includes information gathering and community discussions to test two tools that CCDS has developed. Community information summaries and reports will be provided in April 2009.
