The Social Planning Council is pleased to announce the release of the 2007 edition of Community Connection, a guide to support services in Waterloo Region for individuals of all ages with special needs. The book is produced in collaboration with many local agencies, as well as the Waterloo Region District School Board and the Waterloo Region Catholic School Board, and is available in PDF form for free download here on our website. We now offer an electronic version of our Directory of Community Services for Waterloo Region, The Blue Book. This Microsoft Access database application contains over 1000 records describing community service agencies. Read more about it on our new Blue Book page.

The Basic Needs Guide is designed to help people connect with groups which provide food, clothing, shelter, financial assistance, and other necessities of life. The Guide addresses common questions and situations in plain language, and lists information about key services available. There are now copies of the Guide at many local community agencies. It is also on our website at www.waterlooregion.org/basic and is available for purchase in a sturdy binder format from our office.
